Clinical Trials Begin to Treat Eye Disease With Healthy Steam Cells

Eyes, sensitive part of the body has to be treated with due care. Clinical trials are on rolls to give the most advanced treatment to the eyes through steam cells. The clinical trials use embryonic stem cells to slow or reverse the effects of macular degeneration and dystrophy. The patients suffering from these particular disorders related to eye will have the steam cells injected into their eyes giving their acceptance for the observation in the clinical trials. The expectation from the clinical trial is to slow, halt or even reverses the effects of the dystrophy by injecting healthy retinal cells into the eye.

Dystrophy is the main reason for blindness in the young people. The trail phase of the steam cell therapy goes with the normal clinical trial process and adheres on knowing the safety of the stem cell therapy in the early phases. The success of the clinical expects the new RPE (retinal pigment epithelial cells) injected into the will grow gradually and restore the damaged retina to healthy state.
