Clinical trials are usually conducted to with the objective of measuring performance of the medicines that are ready to show their face in the market. Clinical trial is categorized into different types. Behavior of the researchers in the clinical trial is one way of classifying the clinical and purpose of the clinical trial is the another way of classifying the Clinical trial.

The clinical trials are categorized into two types based on the behavior of the researchers.
  1. Observational study does not have  active involvement of the researches in the study .
  2.  Interventional study involves research study by comparing the health progress between the participants that receive the active treatments and the other who receive the placebo treatment.

Purposeof the clinical trial

The underlying purpose of the clinical trial categorizes the clinical trial into 5 different categories.
Prevention trials look at the better ways to prevent the diseases from re attacking. This process includes medicines, vitamins, vaccines, minerals, or lifestyle changes.

Screening trials are intended to the best way to detect particular diseases in the human body. Diagnostic trials are conducted to find out the medicine to treat particular diseases in the most effective way. Quality of life trials aim at exploring the ways to improve comfort and quality of life of the individuals with chronic illness.

Expand accesses trials are conducted with the aim of finding out the new treatment for the unsolved health issues. This will generally involve the patients that are suffering from uncured diseases. The participant group involves the people who are exhausted by using all the standard methods to treat their diseases.
